The year 2007saw a most impressive output from the CVR C&W department. Headed by Brian Mullen, MPD & Operating Admin, with his team of up to eighteen part time volunteers, they have managed to progress a coach and eight wagons through the coach shed.

The main renovation project was the BSK Coach M35343 built at Wolverton in 1962. All external paintwork was removed as were the doors which were completely dismantled and rebuilt almost as new. Steam heating was installed in the luggage area. Most of the interior repainted following repairs to floors, ceilings etc. and some upholstery work was also carried out.

Work on all eight wagons entailed stripping down repairing where necessary and repainting. Any work required on the frames and bogies was carried out in situ by the MPD.

There are in all approximately eighteen volunteers who help Brian. Some manage to spend one day every week on a regular basis, whereas others attend less often, but their help is still much appreciated.
