This year's Diesel Weekend will follow a similar format to last year’s event. Locomotive and stock changes will take place at Froghall station and two train operation will be in use all weekend.

Our three day diesel event will see resident Class 47, D1842 in operation. Alongside will be Class 33, 33102, subject to completion of engine repairs.

We will also have a visiting OPERATIONAL Class 37, 37075. Resident Class 104 DMU M50455+M50517 will be on very active duty, part of which will include ‘DMU Tail Loads’ (Saturday/Sunday only) utilising a box van and/or a GUV.

There will be a demonstration freight train in operation on the Friday and Saturday evening will include a 70’s themed ‘Supper Train' hauled by 33102 and 37075. A live band will also be performing classics from the 70s at Cheddleton.

The opportunity to be a ‘Driver for a Fiver' will also be on offer at Cheddleton. Throughout the weekend our Yorkshire Engine Company built 0-4-0DH ‘Brightside’ will be available to drive from the bay platform at Cheddleton to the head of the sidings and return for just £5.

As mentioned, the home fleet will be strengthened by the arrival of class 37 37075 which will be with us for a short period of time.
