Rent our holiday apartment

Did you know that Kingsley & Froghall Station has a spacious and well equipped holiday apartment available to rent, all the year round ?

The apartment, newly built in 2003, is situated on the first floor of the new station building which is itself a close replica of a Victorian North Staffordshire Railway station. Each room is tastefully decorated and is warm and cosy, having the benefit of Gas Central Heating throughout.

The Outside

Whilst the apartment has its own private entrance at the rear, you will feel part of Kingsley & Froghall station from the moment you arrive. There is a good chance that your stay will coincide with one of our running days when we will be using one of our preserved steam locomotives to haul the trains - right past your window !

You will be given complimentary tickets as part of your stay (subject to a service running and excluding certain special events) and will be very welcome to explore the rest of the 5.5 mile long Churnet Valley Line, and the valley itself, by train.

Kingsley & Froghall is also well placed to explore further a field by car - Alton Towers is only a 10 minute drive away whilst the Derbyshire Peak District is only 10 minutes further. Other local attractions include the Potteries, Rudyard Lake, Ashbourne and Leek.

Inside the apartment

The apartment is situated on the first floor of the station building affording good views of the station area, platforms and line. Up a short flight of stairs you will find the landing with all the other rooms leading off this.

The Living Room

The Comfortable Living Room

The living room is bright and airy, with windows on three elevations, and has good views of the platforms and station front. It is cosy and well equipped with a dining table with seating for four or five, two settees, occasional tables, TV with satellite receiver*, video recorder and hi-fi including radio cassette and CD player. Sit back, relax and watch the world (and the trains !) go by.

The Kitchen

Well Equipped Kitchen

A case of small is beautiful, the kitchen is nevertheless very well equipped with oak units and marble style worktops providing lots of useful storage space. Included is a full size gas cooker, stainless steel sink, large fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle as well as all the crockery, cutlery and kitchen linen that you will ever need. Just provide the food or save yourself the bother and use the neighbouring pub - after all, you're on holiday !

The Bathroom

Everything you'll need in a bathroom ! Toilet, washbasin, bath with shower, mirror, shaver point and all linen included. An unlimited supply of hot water is provided by a modern combination boiler.

The Master Bedroom

Definitely my favourite room, the master bedroom is extremely well equipped and will sleep up to three adults and an infant in peaceful comfort. The room, furnished in dark pine, contains one double bed and one single bed as well as a matching cot. There are a number of bedside cabinets which provide useful storage as well as a large wardrobe and a dressing table. There is also a colour TV should you fancy watching the late night film in bed !

The Second Bedroom

Another lovely bedroom, this time in blue but once again furnished in dark pine. It sleeps two in comfort and has a pine wardrobe, bedside cabinets and dressing table.

The store room

No picture this time, but a very useful room nonetheless. It houses the central heating boiler, automatic washing machine and provides lots of warm storage area, just the job for drying coats, wellies etc if the need arises. It also houses the spare linen, if it is needed, the vacuum cleaner and the iron and ironing board.

General

The apartment is fully cleaned by our staff before your arrival. All linen is changed and everything left spotlessly clean ready for your stay. Margaret or Carol will put the heating on for you before you arrive, if necessary, and will personally welcome you to your holiday home. 

Having been shown around and handed the keys, you will be left to settle in and explore the site. Should you need any help or information we will only be a short walk or telephone call away.

Booking

The apartment is co-managed by Country Holidays and also appears on their website. As we have reached the limit of our 'owner bookings', all bookings should now be made through Country Holidays via the Country Holidays Website. 

Please note that we and Country Holidays are unable to accept booking after November 2007 as the apartment will no longer be available.
