Halloween at
the Churnet Valley Railway
aboard the Ghost Train
Saturday 30th October 2004

Once again a sell-out event and once again very well received, the annual Halloween event was held at Consall this year.
Passengers were invited to board the Ghost Train at either Kingsley & Froghall or Cheddleton and travel into the Valley of the Dead at their peril. They did in their hundreds.
And they weren't disappointed !

The Porter at Kingsley & Froghall looked like he'd seen better days - maybe time to retire him ?

Meanwhile the tea room at Kingsley & Froghall looked like it could do with a good clean
Things were about to get worse down at Consall - a lot worse

Would you buy a drink from this lot ?

The men weren't much better either - things could only improve !

Unfortunately they didn't - cremated burgers and hot dogs courtesy of mad, bad Amy and Roger

Keeping them well supplied with rolls and burgers to cremate were these beauties - they had a hell of a time doing it !

Lurking in the darkness were some even stranger characters - I kept well away
But far worse was to come for anyone daring to look into the old carriage - a deranged Bride & Groom invited people into their lair for tea.

Enough to put you off marriage for life - he ate her leg later on !
Not surprisingly no-one felt the urge to go in so, instead, they took to touring the site being generally unpleasant.

More grim goings on over the other end of the site
Free Toffee Apples if you dare approach this pair - not many did for some reason

Has Simon been at those burgers again ?

Many thanks to all the staff and volunteers that made the event possible. Sorry if i didn't manage to capture you on film - maybe next time ?
