A new Souvenir Guide and a new Stock Book have been produced for 2008

The beginning of the 2008 season marks the introduction of two new books to the CVR shop. The Souvenir Guide is a full colour book covering a potted history of the line from its creation, through to preservation. A detailed look at each station along the line is described, as well as the journey in-between. The author also takes a look at Volunteering and our Special Events. The whole booklet is graphically brought to life by the excellent photos of Dave Gibson, the railways Official Photographer, making this a must for the bookshelf. Ideal for an Easter gift, Fathers Day present or as a souvenir to remember your visit. All at the pocket money price of £3.50.

The second book is the Stock Book which we have seen in various formats over the years but which is now separated from the completely new Souvenir Guide. This publication is aimed at all visitors, not just enthusiasts, and is based on similar items sold on other preserved railways.

The second book is the 2008 edition of the Stock Book - it's origins dating back to the first guides produced in the early 1990's, but now brought up to date since the recent guide books of 2005-2007. For the first time, the new "Stock Book" will offer colour pictures of each locomotive on the line (at the time of writing) along with an up to date list of technical details and history of each item. This is a railwayman's personal account of a trip by Class 25 along our line to Oakamoor in BR days to collect the sand trains.
