Whether you join one of our lunch trains, afternoon cream teas or sumptuous evening dining services, you'll enjoy the beautiful journey along the Churnet Valley known as 'Staffordshire's Little Switzerland,' and on selected days watch the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands roll by when our services venture onto the extended Moorland & City line to Ipstones Loop where you can catch the breath taking scenery as the train tackles some of the steepest gradients on the British railway network.

Join us to enjoy a very Traditional Cream Tea served onboard our dedicated dining train, from where you can enjoy the beauty of the Churnet Valley on certain dates throughout the summer whilst being hauled by one of our heritage locomotives.
Tickets are £20 per person, and include both your train travel and food.
We are able to offer a limited "Table-For-Two" guarantee on all of our advertised Dining Trains, available on a First-come First-serve basis at the cost a third ticket for the respective train. This must be booked at the same time as the initial reservation.
Whilst every effort will be made to provide a steam locomotive for the event, the Churnet Valley Railway reserves the right to change the motive power without prior notice or recompense.
Due to limited seating capacity no refunds or transfers will be given.
No dogs except guide dogs are allowed in the dining coach.
Owing to the historic design of the dining coach wheelchairs cannot be accommodated.
The minimum age for children on all advertised dining trains is 14 years.
Vegetarian alternatives are available if requested at the time of booking, but we are unable to accommodate any other special dietary needs. Your understanding is appreciated.
No alcohol or drinks are to be consumed other than those purchased from the Churnet Valley Railway.
No smoking is permitted within any of the coaches.
Bookings for the dining train must, where practical, be in multiples of two.
Seat reservation price is inclusive of meal, trainfare and VAT.
Any requirement for allergen free meals must be specified at the time of booking. We take extra care to avoid cross-contamination when preparing allergen free meals, however, due to the historic nature of our Kitchen Car we do not have an allergen free zone.
"The Moorlander" is an ideal venue for a variety of celebratory occasions - including Birthdays, Anniversaries, Retirements and Weddings. All such events can be catered for with menus tailored to meet your requirements.

All our food is prepared and cooked on board our very own kitchen coach by our own chef. We are a fair-trade Company and all of our food is locally sourced.
Full on train bar facilities combine to make this a nostalgic journey, taking you back to the halycon days of on-train dining in our first class dining car "Diana".
