Next time you visit the Churnet Valley Railway and take a journey up the Cauldon Branch, keep your eye out for a new sign recently erected by CVR volunteers. At the site of the former Bradnop station, work was undertaken at the start of the year to clear overhanging trees that were in danger of falling onto the railway and as a result the site of the former station building, which closed in 1935, was uncovered.
Following this, a number of CVR members clubbed together to have a replica Name Board made so that people could see where the station once stood. Then a small number of these members took a week's holiday to do further clearance work along the Cauldon Branch, as well as erect the new board. The team can be seen sat around the sign at the end of the week last Friday following completion of this project and a hard few days work.
