Families will be carried back to a traditional Victorian Christmas when Santa Claus makes his magical return to the Churnet Valley Railway in December.
The railway’s ever-popular Santa and Steam Specials are a wonderful way for all members of the family to begin the festive season.
As Santa strolls through the garland-filled coaches with a hand-picked quality gifts for every child, parents and grandparents can relax with a mince pie and a glass of sherry. At Cheddleton and Kingsley & Froghall Stations, traditional decorations and merriment will complete the festive atmosphere. As well as period attractions, music and curios their will be balloon modellers and circus clowns to entertain the children.
Santa and Steam Specials begin on Sunday December 1st and will then continue every Saturday & Sunday throughout December plus Christmas Eve.
As a special offer on Sunday December 1st and Saturday 7th December one child can travel free with every two adults. The Santa trains are also a firm favourite with local schools and we offer the choice of two mid-week dates, Wednesday 4th and Wednesday 11th December.
